I am an Artist...
I work mostly in pastels, mixed media, photography
and oils. I enjoy pastels the most due to the fact that
I get to blend the colors with my fingertips,
I love the feel of being closer to and becoming part
of what I create. I hope not to lose that connection
with my art, even when it's sold.
My Style?
I love to work on black. Oils, watercolors, pastels, it doesn’t matter. I think working on black gives me a richer product. While in college developing a style was stressed. I went out and bought reams of the same size black paper to force myself to develop a style in pastels that has stayed with me.
My dreams
I am still trying to find my way...
I want to create art and I want to learn more.
I dream about someday supporting myself solely by producing artwork.
My history
I was born in Milwaukee and have lived here my entire life. From the East Side where I was born number 10 out of 11 children to Bay View where I presently reside with my wife and four children. I enjoy this city immensely. I have started documenting this city in my artwork. I love the results as much as I love the city itself.
I started my art training at the Milwaukee Art Museum as a small child. In grade school I enrolled in the Cardinal Stritch College children’s weekend art program under the guidance of Sister Tomasita's and John Tryba. I continued my art studies at Marquette University High School with art teacher Philip Krejcarek then on to The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee School of Fine Arts where I was mentored by Adolph Rosenblatt, Larry Rathsack and Bill Nichols
I worked in retail advertising in Boston Store corporate offices in the Grand Avenue Mall for 30 years where I have honed my skills in the electronic
graphics arts. I love creating art in InDesign and Photoshop.
